Appointments to the National Oversight & Audit Commission (NOAC)
The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill two positions on the National Oversight and Audit Commission.
Essential
Candidates for these positions must demonstrate in their application evidence of knowledge or experience of:
• a proven recent track record in local/regional government, and
• an in-depth knowledge of local/regional or public administration systems in Ireland,
and one or more of the following:
I. A proven track record at an appropriately senior level in a multifunction organisation
II. A proven track record in the political process
III. A proven track record in statutory, community or voluntary bodies dealing with consumer issues.
Desirable
• Previous experience in the oversight of public bodies;
• Previous experience in public sector performance/programmes evaluation;
• Previous knowledge or experience of public sector finance;
• Previous experience in corporate governance and compliance;
• Previous experience in public sector reform;
• International experience in the area of oversight, particularly for local government;
• Previous experience in achieving community involvement in projects/initiatives.
